SOMETIMES IT'S AN ALLERGY...
SOMETIMES IT'S A COLD *...

SEASON-ALL REACTION TO POLLEN :O)

Tip #1
Sneezing, eyes watering, sinus dripping, sore throat, and even slight chills from low grade fever,
can be symptoms of seasonal allergies. We have seen the following combined supplements work
wonders for our family and friends during an allergy season:

Quercitin with Bromelain capsules, 2 every morning and evening,
Ester C 500mg each, 3 each morning and evening,
(on heavily challenging days, three times a day)

TIP #2
At the first sign of nasal or sinus irritation, we do the following
to help keep the reaction down, if not stop it in it's tracks:

We use some xylitol sweetener: It is a natural plant based product , and it looks and tastes like sugar! We mix a spoonful in an inch or so of water, until it tastes sweet! This we spray or squirt into the nasal passages, (using a small plastic spray bottle) and gently snort it up into the sinuses! We have also successfully used this to progressively wash out the nasal passages after they have already become filled. This sugar alcohol is said to change the environment in the nose palate, and throat, where germs multiply, and make it less friendly for them to make us miserable! Anything we do that is defensive only makes it easier for our immune sytem to kill off the germs that make it through! It's a war, a numbers game, and winners can fall into several categories: Those who don't 'get sick' because their systems never get overwhelmed and their immune systems kill off the invaders, and those who exhibit some symptoms, but do things that discourage rather than encourage multiplication of the invaders, and support the immune system strength to kill off the relatively few invaders causing initial symptoms! Losers are those who do things to weaken their immune system, and continue to make their nose and throats and guts friendly places for invaders to multiply! With just a little information, we can make a big difference! Just put 'xylitol' into the search bar, and you will find links to information ranging from prevention of tooth decay to ear infections! Here's one to get you started! And you may want to look into 'flouride problems,' too. Or not: It's kind of shocking.

If it gets ahead of us, or we think we have a "cold,"
we add an olive leaf capsule twice a day.

Tip #5

We have noticed over the years that drinking plenty of good water and making sure we stay "regular" EVERY day are both extremely supportive to the body's highest functioning. Here again, when the day doesn't begin in a 'regularly' expected way, we have used a xylitol sweetened glass of water, on the recommendation of a local chiropractic MD: It works, and quickly, to get the elimination system spiffed up! There is much evidence and agreement among health experts that what goes wrong with the body has a direct correlation to the health of the gut, that is, our body's ability to be efficient in getting the nutrients it needs out of our food, into our cells, ...and getting rid of the waste!

Tip #6

Taking an antibiotic is seen as the only answer for so many people: But it is seen as a drastic choice by natural health counselors because of what it does to the body's immune system: It takes it down by killing the helpful bacteria as well as the harmful ones: Hence the name 'anti-bio-tic.' You are actually left vulnerable to another infection as the body says "Got rid of that last problem: Hope nothing else comes along!"

There is another product called 'probiotic,' and it replaces the healthy, natural bacteria that are so helpful in keeping you healthy! It can cost $30 for a month's supply...Much less than the cost of the ANTIbiotic that depletes the gut of it's healthy bacteria in the first place! But, if the choice is made to take the antibiotic for what is seen as a good reason, looking into replacing the healthy gut bacteria to bring back full support for the immune system has been shown to be a good idea!

Tip #7

I don't know why they call it a 'health care' system! Seems to me there could be a lot more prevention going on with more encouragement from those who say they 'care.' Now, there's a challenge for your family doctor: Caring enough to get you healthy and help you stay there! Remember that link to Bittiker? If you take time to listen to one of his Saturday radio shows, you'll notice he sounds willing to do both for those who need it. Surely there are others out there, too. The Dr. Bob Martin Show for example.

If you would like to learn more about these alternative approaches to healthy health care, you could take a look at these really well-known references: They can usually be found at your local health food store book section, in regular bookstores, or you can read a few pages online at Amazon.com:

Prescription for Nutritional Healing
Reference to Drug-Free Remedies Using Vitamins, Minerals, Herbs, and Food Supplements
(Prescription for Nutritional Healing, 3rd ed,) by Phyllis Balch, James Balch

Prescription for Herbal Healing: An Easy-to-Use A-Z Reference to Hundreds of Common Disorders and Their Herbal Remedies, by Phyllis A. Balch

And here's a link to a page on Dr. Bittiker's site, where he lists his favorite sites.
